Erin Spencer

Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapist

Hi, I'm Erin, a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). During the latter part of my career as an OT, I have focused on honing my skills to provide high quality care to adults with ADHD. I have come to understand the unique challenges faced by those with ADHD, and I aim to provide personalized therapy that addresses each person's specific needs. This might include difficulties at work, relationships, general life tasks or academics. I focus on point-of-performance strategies that fit your goals and lifestyle. I use a variety of techniques, tools and strategies to focus on optimizing executive function by addressing the many factors that impact your ability to get things done. This includes focusing on healthy habits, stress management and challenging unhelpful thought patterns.

It’s a common misconception that a therapist’s role is to provide solutions or “make” someone better. In reality, therapy is more like a partnership. My role as a therapist is to help you understand yourself more deeply, offer tools and strategies, and create a safe space where you can explore, practice, and learn new ways of approaching challenges. Your role is equally important — showing up, engaging with the process, and being open to trying new approaches. Together, we can work towards gradually implementing strategies and self regulation skills that create long-term change.

Non-judgment and inclusion are important values in my practice that ensure that I do my best to prioritize your safety and wellbeing in our work together. I have taken courses offered through Rainbow Health Ontario and the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists specific to providing queer- and trans-inclusive healthcare, as well as additional training in trauma and mental health to ensure my practice in trauma-informed. My values of inclusion, anti-opporession, anti-racism and equality are fundamental to my practice.

I am always seeking out new ways to improve my practice and help my clients achieve their goals. This includes ongoing training in the areas of ADHD, trauma and mental health. With my 10 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist and dedication to my clients, I am able to provide the support and guidance you need to lead a fulfilling life. I offer virtual sessions to fit your schedule. I can be reached at erinspencerot@gmail.com to provide more information on booking. Fees are $150 for sessions.
